Innovative Music Therapy Study with USF

An expanded partnership with the University of South Florida's School of Aging Studies will offer members the opportunity to participate in a 4-week music therapy program.  The group music program includes gentle stretching exercises in a seated position and watching up to 20 pieces of music video meaningful to older adults (instrumental and vocal music performances by a variety of artists in different genres)!

The objective of this study is to determine the benefit of group music intervention in reducing neuropsychiatric symptoms (i.e. agitation, depression) among people with dementia.  The social behavioral study is considered to be minimal risk with no invasive data collection procedures involved. Based on prior research, it's expected that the majority of listeners will find the selection of music to be fun and enjoyable!

THE STUDY IS OPEN TO ALL WHO QUALIFY (including nonmembers).

Registration is required. Contact us today for details!
